Descrizione Album
Questo progetto nasce dall’idea di voler sperimentare nuove sonorità e nuovi approcci stilistici, in un momento nel quale sento di potermi confrontare con una realtà pianistica europea di ampio respiro, dove coesistono forme espressive pianistiche multiformi. Accantonando solo momentaneamente il pianoforte classico e le sue sonorità, mi sono cimentato in questo lavoro utilizzando le timbriche di piano “felted” ed “Unacorda”, che richiedono una diversa tecnica espressiva e pure un diverso approccio compositivo. L’album si divide idealmente in due parti: nella prima troviamo brani suonati al piano Felted, nella seconda invece sono suonati con Unacorda. I suoni sono ovattati, soffusi, ovviamente meno evidenti e dinamici rispetto al piano classico, ma proprio per questo possiedono una forza evocativa e descrittiva forse addirittura più intensa. C’è più intimità in questi strumenti, i clamori si smorzano, le luci si abbassano, si rimane un po’ in punta di piedi per non disturbare ma in questo modo ci si ascolta di più, ci si sente e ci si ritrova con maggior rispetto, con più calma ed attenzione. Per me comporre questi brani, ha significato il dovermi accettare nella mia essenza, sfrondando tutto il sovrappiù, basandomi solo sull’essenziale. Ciononostante, ritengo comunque, ancora una volta, di aver dato una lettura personale del pianismo minimale. L’album si compone di 11 brani. Contrariamente a quanto ho sentito fare da altri artisti che si cimentano con questo stile, non ho mai usato sovrapposizioni per dare maggior enfasi alle composizioni per cui, quanto si sente è stato suonato in presa diretta, in linea con il mio modo di intendere il genere minimalistico. Fa eccezione solamente l’undicesimo brano, che è una sorta di “bonus track”, dove sono stati aggiunti dei suoni e degli effetti di contorno per definire meglio il mood del brano. Grande attenzione è stata rivolta alla registrazione ed al mastering di tutte le tracce, in quanto la costruzione e la resa di queste sonorità, che solo apparentemente sembrano casuali o banali, richiedono invece grande attenzione per trovare il giusto bilanciamento timbrico. BIO
Pianista e compositore, ha compiuto studi di formazione classica proseguendoli da autodidatta. La musica ha per lui il compito di esprimere le sue sensazioni e soprattutto la ricerca di un equilibrio estetico, creativo e formale.

Voyager is the new album for solo piano by italian pianist and composer Dario Crisman. The album is available on all digital platforms and on bluespiralrecords.com website.
Album description
This project stems from my idea to experiment new sounds and new stylistic approaches, in a moment in which I feel I can confront a wide-ranging European piano reality, where multi-faceted piano expressive forms coexist. Setting aside the classical piano and its sounds only momentarily, I tried my hand at this work using the “felted” and “Unacorda” piano timbres, which require a different expressive technique and also a different compositional approach. The album is ideally divided into two parts: in the first one we find songs played on the Felted piano, in the second part they are played with Unacorda. The sounds are “muffled”, suffused, obviously less evident and dynamic than the classical piano, but for this very reason they possess an evocative and perhaps even more intense descriptive force. There is more intimacy in these instruments, the clamor is dulled, the lights are dimmed, we remain a little on tiptoe to avoid disturbing, but in this way we listen to each other more, we feel and we find ourselves with greater respect, with more calm and attention. For me composing these songs has meant having to accept myself in my essence, stripping away all the surplus, based only on the essentials. Nevertheless, I still believe, once again, to have given a personal touch to the minimal pianism. The album consists of 11 tracks. Contrary to what I have heard from other artists I have never used overlays to give more emphasis to the compositions, so what you hear was played live, in line with my understanding of the minimalist genre. The only exception is the eleventh song, which is a sort of “bonus track”, where sounds and contour effects have been added to better define the mood of the song. Great attention has been paid to the recording and mastering of all tracks, as the construction and rendering of these sounds require great attention to find the right tonal balance. (Dario Crisman)

Pianist and composer, he has completed classical studies by continuing them as self-taught. Music has the task of expressing his feelings and above all the search for aesthetic, creative and formal balance.
