Descrizione Album

L’album “We are Infinite” nasce dalla contemplazione di tutto ciò che porta verso l’infinito: l’universo e le sue stelle, pianeti lontani inesplorati, lo spazio e i suoni che l’ orecchio umano non percepisce. Il superamento di limitazioni che talvolta la materia ci pone, un buon pretesto per guardarci dentro e seguire la mappa stellare che noi stessi tracciamo (A map to find us). Racconta di paesaggi e terre lontane, che assumendo la forma della mente, risvegliano la nostra fantasia, al punto di far diventare noi stessi quei luoghi infiniti: noi siamo il paesaggio, le nostre idee i “soggetti” che si muovono all’interno del “quadro”. Parla di echi che si perdono in luoghi sacri e silenziosi (Where echos come to rest – Tana lot), di piogge che si mescolano nel mare (Searain) e di mondi liquidi dai quali fantastiche creature marine si risvegliano ( All creatures bloom). Suggerisce l’importanza di fare musica, studiarla per amore di se stessi e di qualcun’ altro (I owe you), vivendo l’arte come “ un paesaggio dell’essere in cui prima di tutto si è” (A landscape of being). Tratta il tema del ricordo e della necessità di rispettare le emozioni, lasciando che ogni cosa finisca naturalmente e imparando una forma di gentilezza per un nuovo inizio. L’album si conclude con un’immagine artefatta di fuochi d’artificio (Like fireworks) che illuminando la nostra vista, spingono la mente più che mai verso la musica , rendendo quest’ultima infinita.

L’artista

Pianista e compositore Feryanto Demichelis inizia lo studio del pianoforte a tre anni con Maria Rezzo, a sei anni vince il suo primo concorso a Stresa come I° assoluto della sua categoria. Negli anni seguenti partecipa a molti concorsi italiani ed internazionali, vincendo cinquanta primi premi assoluti come solista e in duo pianistico con Elisabetta Pitotto. Nel 1994 /1995 partecipa a stage di direzione d’orchestra a Lugano, su invito di Richard Schumacher mentre nel biennio 1995/1996 intraprende un’intensa attività concertistica come solista in Svizzera, Italia e Indonesia (suo Paese d’origine). Compiuti gli studi di pianoforte e contrappunto si dedica prevalentemente alla composizione e all’insegnamento. Nel 2007 registra, come pianista solista, parte della colonna sonora del film “Il dolce e l’amaro” di Andrea Porporati. Alla fine del 2008 registra e produce il disco “Velo di Maya” per pianoforte, batteria e violoncello. Dal 2009 è direttore artistico e docente di pianoforte classico e moderno presso la scuola di musica MusicAvanguardia di Rivoli. Nel 2014 fonda il trio Koneskin, di cui é stato tastierista, cantante e compositore.

Album description

The album”We are Infinite” is born from the contemplation of everything that leads to infinity: the universe and its stars, unexplored distant planets, the space and sounds that the human ear does not perceive. The overcoming of the limitations that sometimes the matter puts us, a good excuse to look inside ourselves and to follow the star map that we trace ourselves (A map to find us). It tells of landscapes and distant lands, which, taking the form of the mind, awaken our imagination, to the point of becoming ourselves those infinite places: we are the landscape, our ideas the “subjects” that move within the “framework”. It tells of echoes that are lost in sacred and silent places (Where echos come to rest – Tana lot), of rains that mix in the sea (Searain) and of liquid worlds from which fantastic sea creatures awaken (All creatures bloom). It suggests the importance of making music, studying it for the sake of oneself and of someone else (I owe you), living art as “a landscape of being in which one is first of all” (A landscape of being). It deals with the theme of memory and the need to respect emotions, letting everything end naturally and learning a kind of kindness for a new beginning. The album ends with an artificial image of fireworks (Like fireworks) that illuminating our sight, push the mind more than ever towards the music, making it infinite.

The Artist

Pianist and composer Feryanto Demichelis began studying piano at the age of three with Maria Rezzo, at the age of six he won his first competition at Stresa as 1st prize in his category. In the following years he took part in many Italian and international competitions, winning fifty absolute first prizes as a soloist and in a piano duo with Elisabetta Pitotto. In 1994/1995 he participated in an orchestra conducting masterclass in Lugano invited by Richard Schumacher, and in the two-year period 1995/1996 he began an intense concert activity as a soloist in Switzerland, Italy and Indonesia (his country of origin). In 2007 he recorded, as a soloist pianist, part of the soundtrack of “The sweet and the bitter”, a movie by Andrea Porporati. At the end of 2008 he recorded and produced the album “Velo di Maya” for piano, drums and cello. Since 2009 he is artistic director and classical and modern piano teacher at the MusicAvanguardia school of music in Rivoli. In 2014 he founded the trio Koneskin, where he was keyboardist, singer and composer.
