“Variation on Truth” è un brano inizialmente scritto per piano e viola e successivamente trascritto per pianoforte solo. Nasce da una piccola frase, un germe che ha generato l’intero processo compositivo di una singolarità sonora scelta: “un tema che si nasconde tra le note, come una verità nascosta”. L’idea, chiamata “tema della verità” passa da una sezione all’altra, si ripete, modula fino a cambiare tempo, per poi tornare e concludersi. C’è dunque un progetto, governato tendenzialmente dalla regolarità, cercando di creare un contrasto fra ciò che è “regolare” e quello che è “singolare”.

ENGLISH VERSION

“Variation on Truth” is a song initially written for piano and viola and later transcribed for solo piano. It comes from a small phrase, a germ that generated the entire compositional process of a chosen sound singularity: “a theme that hides between notes, like a hidden truth”. The idea, called “theme of truth” passes from one section to another, repeats itself, modulates until it changes time, then returns and ends. There is therefore a project, tended to be governed by regularity, trying to create a contrast between what is “regular” and what is “singular”.
