André Kellerberg, originario della Germania, ma residente in Repubblica Ceca da quasi 2 decenni – è un pianista e compositore di formazione classica che collega e fonde generi diversi – con elementi di musica classica, rock, elettronica e ambientale – per creare un paesaggio sonoro unico, intimo ma con una distinta atmosfera indie. Anche il suo ultimo album “Irradiant” ha suscitato molto interesse da artisti neoclassici affermati come Michael Price. André pubblicherà il suo nuovo album nella primavera del 2020 con la Blue Spiral Records.

“Honesty” is the new single by pianist and composer André Kellerberg. The song is available on all digital platforms and on the bluespiralrecords.com website. André Kellerberg, originally from Germany, but living in CZ for almost 2 decades- is a classically trained pianist and composer who bridges and merges different genres- with classical, rock, electronic and ambient music elements- to create a unique soundscape, intimate but with a distinct fresh indie vibe. His latest album “Irradiant” also caught much interest by well established neoclassical artists like Michael Price. André Kellerberg will release his new album in Spring 2020 on Blue Spiral Records.

“Honesty”
Una traccia che intende essere onesta, sexy, efficace. Vuole essere un’affermazione emotiva sulla lotta di due individui di diversa estrazione culturale con le loro discrepanze e i loro continui tentativi di superarli e di formare una forte unità. Semplicemente perché il fallimento non è mai stato e non sarà mai un’opzione. E devi metterti a nudo ed esporti alle tue paure più profonde per essere finalmente abbastanza aperto da accettare qualcun altro, per vedere i tuoi veri colori e per invitarlo a unirsi ai tuoi sforzi. Un aneddoto della sessione di registrazione: ho suonato un set di 30 minuti fisicamente molto impegnativo la sera prima della sessione, cosa che mi ha provocato sintomi dolorosi come tendiniti e contratture muscolari alla mia mano destra. Il giorno dopo ho potuto suonare il tutto solamente grazie al ghiaccio che applicavo costantemente. Il pianoforte non era accordato bene, ma tutto sommato ha funzionato donando alle trame musicali un bel carattere aggiuntivo. Sono davvero contento di essere riuscito a registrare questa traccia nel modo in cui si è rivelata. Ho dovuto interrompere la registrazione durante il primo tentativo a causa del dolore e le contratture muscolari. Dopo aver applicato un po’ di spray sulla zona, il dolore è diventato insensibile e sono stato in grado di interpretare il pezzo.

A track that intends to be honest, sexy, effective. It’s meant to be an emotional statement on the struggle of two individuals from different cultural backgrounds with their discrepancies and their continuous attempts to overcome these and to form a strong unity. Simply because failure never was and never will be an option. And you got to strip yourself naked and expose yourself to your deepest fears to finally be open enough to accept someone else to see your true colors and to invite him/her to join in on your endeavors. An anecdote from the recording session: I played a physically very demanding 30 minutes set the evening before the session which resulted in nasty and very painful symptoms such as tendonitis and muscle contractures in my right hand. I was only able to play through the day with the help of frequent use of icing spray- which lead to nasty frost bites afterwards:-) You know the studio was booked and paid for and another musician came from Vienna to record music for another project, so cancelling was not an option. On top piano was not properly tuned, but we had to make it work. Gives the musical textures some nice additional character. I am really glad I was able to record this track in the way it turned out. I had to stop recording during the 1st attempt due to pain and muscle contractures. After some icing spray was applied on the area, the pain was numb and I was able to play the hell out of this piece.”
