L’isolamento sociale è la più grande occasione per poter passare più tempo con noi stessi, ascoltare i nostri pensieri e i nostri sospiri. Ci accorgiamo che non esiste il silenzio, ma solo un continuo rumore di sottofondo. Questo è “Silentium”. Il brano procede per sospiri, lunghi e cadenzati e ha una fondamentale caratteristica: l’assenza, paradossale, di quel silenzio.

L’artista

Matteo Borlenghi è pianista, organista e compositore. Nasce a Busseto nel 1996 e fin da piccolo intraprende gli studi musicali accompagnato da una formazione accademica. Attualmente arricchisce i propri interessi umanistici frequentando la facoltà di Lettere Classiche ad Urbino. Da sempre attratto dalla Musica Antica, abbina l’approfondimento storico ad un costante interesse per il presente e le nuove tecnologie in campo musicale. Pone alla base del proprio pensiero artistico Johann Sebastian Bach, i Pink Floyd e Arvo Part; si lascia inoltre continuamente contaminare dalla letteratura greca e latina. Nel 2019 pubblica da indipendente il suo primo album, “At the End of the Day”, in stile ambient e minimalista, che unisce il puro suono del pianoforte alla manipolazione elettronica.

Social isolation is the greatest opportunity to spend more time with ourselves, listen to our thoughts and sighs. We realize that there is no silence, only a continuous background noise. This is “Silentium”. The piece proceeds by sighs, long and cadenced and has one fundamental characteristic: the absence, paradoxical, of that silence.

The Artist

Matteo Borlenghi is an italian pianist, organist and composer. He was born in Busseto in 1996 and since childhood he undertakes musical studies accompanied by an academic education. He currently enriches his humanistic interests by attending the Faculty of Classical Letters in Urbino. Always attracted to Ancient Music, it combines historical insight with a constant interest in the present and new technologies in the music field. He places Johann Sebastian Bach, Pink Floyd and Arvo Part at the base of his artistic thought; his artistic thoughts are also contaminated by Greek and Latin literature. In 2019 he independently released his first album, “At the End of the Day”, in an ambient and minimalist style, which combines the pure sound of the piano with electronic manipulations.
